The Bela Lugosi 1940s Dracula Statuette – Sculpted by the hand of Bela Lugosi, or at least that’s how the story goes. We purchased an original 1940s Statuette from Forrest J Ackerman shortly before his death.
Ackerman's claim, often repeated in Lugosi lore, was that Lugosi had sculpted the figure himself in the mid 1940s and had several ceramic castings made to give as gifts to friends. Another version of the story has Lugosi’s sister in law sculpting the iconic man in his most famous role, but either way this is a very rare Dracula indeed.
Shown in the photo below is Lugosi and the Statuette (lower right of photo with red outline added by us) from a mid 1940s Christmas holiday.
Choose your Lugosi Dracula Statuette finished in Antique Gold, Antique Silver, or unpainted and ready for you to finish as shown in the examples below.
The Lugosi Statuette is another of our offerings from The Forrest J Ackerman Collection and is a first generation from the original Ackerman statuette – excellent detail, solid cast in polyurethane resin to last a lifetime, standing 7 ¾ inches tall by 2 ½ inches at the base.
